The Confrontage exhibition is the result of a recent mission posed by the Special Agent Collage Collective, of which I am a proud card carrying member. Here is a little flavour of the brief below:
"To confront is to face, and that is what you are doing with this mission. It may be connecting a line between two completely different source images. It may be a deliberate contrast between light and dark, busy and quiet. It may be capturing the energy of complementary colors—bluest blue sitting with the most orange of oranges, a verdant green alongside velvety red—or the abruptness of two images so dissimilar, so dissonant, that this is the only way they coexist. Whether a 2-element splice collage or a work of maximalism, you are encouraged to consider how every piece contributes to the confrontage at play."
The piece itself is entitled "The Hollow Man" and it is a part of my Inner Space Series . This collage speaks to the experience of Anhedonia, or absence of pleasure, or a feeling of being lost or listless while in the teeth of profound depression.
Collage-O-Rama is the brain child of the amazing Andrea Lewicki . Its become a real fixture on the international collage calendar, featuring a month long celebration of collage as a medium, through exhibitions, workshops and informal collage gatherings.

Magazine Feature - Murze Magazine Issue Eleven - 'Consciousness, Mindfulness and Clarity'
I am thrilled to once again have work featured in the amazing Murze Magazine. This time work from my ‘Inner Space’ series will feature in Issue Eleven of Murze. I have to say I am loving the illustrations by the cover artist Erin Cutler.
Murze Magazine Issue 11 - 'Consciousness, Mindfulness and Clarity'
An exploration into our understanding and perception of our minds, and mental health. We look at the dark, the light and the journey artists have gone through in exploring our minds and the emotions that consume us.
A little bit about the magazine:
Murze magazine holds regular artist calls providing opportunities for both current and emerging artists to share their work through our platform. We feature artwork from artists of all demographics and nationalities, our calls are international and inclusive.
We hold a variety of open calls for photography and artists such as Political Art, Fluke and Minimalist. As well as projects and digital residencies to get more immersed in such as our Art for Advent project, Word and Ten days of Art.
5% of the sale goes towards Arts And Minds, a charity using the arts to help those with mental health issues.
Each sale of Issue Eleven will also pay for the planting of one Tree 🌳

Announcement - Elements of the Inner Space series featuring in Gestalten Publishers Creative Pool
A great big thanks to Gestalten Publishers for featuring some work from my Inner Space series as part of their Creative Pool. Gestalten have produced some of my favourite books on Illustration and Collage so its an honour.

New Digital Collage - An Emergence To Consciousness
An Emergence To Consciousness is a Digital Collage which manifests into being by synthesizing meaning from our environments and experiences. Our intuition guides our focus, absorbing some information and highlighting some aspects of our experience and editing out other elements based on our immediate situation; but also through the most intimate elements of ourselves, our personal histories, our values, our interests, our agendas, our vices, our pleasures, our hates and our loves. A subtle and powerful process of questioning. What feels pertinent? What feels meaningful? What feels right?
In Gestalt psychology we describe this process as a figure (That is something of meaning, needing our attention) which emerges from the background of our experience, to be engaged with and then when the necessary change comes about the figure of our focus fades into the background again, altering it to in the process. There is a cycle to our experience of the world, awareness, engagement, creative enterprise, integration and finally a return to rest, making space for a new figure to emerge into awareness.
